President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that the Interior Department will redevelop the East Potomac Golf Links into a world‑class championship course. The plan, developed with architect Tom Fazio, aims to host major tournaments such as the U.S. Open, the PGA Championship, the Ryder Cup, and the Presidents Cup while remaining open to the public. Trump said renovations would begin on November fifteenth and last about fifteen months. The proposal faces legal challenges from a preservation group and local residents. U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes has ordered the administration to provide advance notice before any irreversible changes and barred further tree removal through October twenty‑six, citing the administration’s prior cutting of hundreds of trees. Trump’s post claims the current course is old, broken, and of no further use.
