Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Saturday that Starlink and its military variant Starshield remain unusable for intercepting Russian jet‑powered Shaheds because of speed limits that shut down service after one‑hundred‑sixty‑one kilometres per hour. The restriction, imposed by the United States, has left Ukrainian forces unable to deploy their interceptor systems, a frustration echoed by soldiers on the front. Zelenskyy added that Kyiv is in dialogue with U.S. officials and SpaceX, but no resolution has emerged. Meanwhile, Russia launched a large attack on Ukraine’s energy sector, striking more than fifteen critical power facilities, underscoring the strategic importance of uninterrupted satellite communications for Ukraine’s defense and logistics.
