Norte Fire Forces Orange County Evacuations

The Norte Fire ignited midday Friday in San Clemente, burning two hundred fifty acres so far, according to fire officials. The blaze threatens homes in the San Juan Capistrano area, prompting mandatory evacuation orders for residents of Silverado Canyon, Modjeska Canyon, and Williams Canyon. Authorities urge residents to leave promptly, as the fire’s rapid spread could endanger lives and property. Emergency services are coordinating with local agencies to provide temporary assembly areas and support for displaced families. The incident underscores the growing risk of wildfires in Southern California, especially during dry, windy conditions that accelerate fire spread.
