A sixteen‑year‑old former student opened fire inside a special needs classroom at Silver Rail Elementary School, killing three boys and a teacher. The shooter, identified as Griffin John II, entered the school with a Maverick 88 12‑gauge shotgun, firing at least fifteen rounds before being fatally shot by an armed bystander. Investigators are still determining how the teenager obtained the weapon, though preliminary reports suggest his mother purchased it.
