BEND, Ore. – A shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School on Thursday left at least two people hospitalized. Police reported children among the injured, though their hospital status remains unclear. The first call described a gunshot fired into a vehicle around one p.m., followed minutes later by reports of an active shooter at the school. Officers arrived to find the suspect shot and killed inside the building, though it is still uncertain whether the fatal shot came from a bystander or law enforcement.
