The God of War Laufey collector’s box, announced for the PlayStation five, contains a resin statue, a fifty‑one‑card deck, and a small art book, but no copy of the game. Sony’s decision follows a 2023 mishap when the Ragnarok special editions shipped without download codes, a mistake the company later corrected. Critics argue that excluding the game is a deliberate cost‑cutting move, especially since Laufey is a PlayStation five exclusive and does not require multiple disc versions. The omission has sparked backlash from fans who feel the box’s price, around one hundred thirty dollars, is unjustified without the core product. Sony has yet to explain why the game is absent, leaving consumers uncertain about the value of the collector’s edition.
