Chicago Cubs star Pete Crow Armstrong joined Major League Baseball exclusive forty forty club by stealing his fortieth base of the season against the Miami Marlins at Wrigley Field. The twenty four year old outfielder drew a leadoff walk from pitcher Tyler Phillips in the first inning and swiped second base on the next pitch. Crow Armstrong also hit his forty fifth home run earlier in the week during a victory against the Cincinnati Reds. He became the seventh player in major league history to achieve the combined feat of forty home runs and forty stolen bases in a single season. Previous players to accomplish the milestone include Shohei Ohtani, Ronald Acuna Junior, Alfonso Soriano, Alex Rodriguez, Barry Bonds, and Jose Canseco.
