Jarvis Cocker remembers Pulp's first time in new documentary

British alternative rock band Pulp is the subject of a new concert film and documentary titled Pulp What Do You Do For An Encore directed by Garth Jennings. The film chronicles the band history alongside live performance footage from their reunion shows at London O2 Arena. Frontman Jarvis Cocker narrates childhood flashbacks utilizing diary entries written during the 1970s in Sheffield while outlining his early ambitions for the group. The documentary explores Cocker studies at St Martin College in London and traces the group trajectory from underground struggles in the 1980s to mainstream Britpop prominence during the 1990s with successful albums like His And Hers and Different Class. Following a twenty four year recording hiatus the band returned in 2025 with the Mercury Prize nominated album More. Cocker noted during promotional interviews that future musical releases remain possible while discussing the collaborative dynamic between band members following their recent live reunion tour.
