The Asian Development Bank released its September 2026 economic outlook report, raising developing Asia and the Pacific's regional growth forecast upward by 0.1 percentage points to 5.0%. The institutional update attributes the resilience to steady private investment, government stimulus measures, and robust technology exports driven by the global artificial intelligence boom. However, the lender cautioned that prolonged Middle East conflicts, volatile energy markets, and an intensifying El Niño weather pattern pose persistent downside risks to food and energy supplies.
