Chad Gilbert, lead guitarist and founding member of the influential pop-punk band New Found Glory, died at the age of 45. The band and his family confirmed that he passed away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his wife, mother, and close friends. Gilbert had faced severe health complications over the past several years, including treatments for metastatic pheochromocytoma—a rare adrenal gland cancer that affected his spine and lungs—followed by emergency surgery earlier in the year to remove three brain tumors.
