The Los Angeles Chargers signed veteran wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling to their practice squad following a Tuesday workout. The move comes as the team addresses wide receiver depth issues following a rib injury to top target Ladd McConkey and a hamstring injury to KeAndre Lambert-Smith, who was placed on injured reserve. Valdes-Scantling spent the 2026 offseason with the Dallas Cowboys before being released during final roster cutdowns. Throughout his eight-year NFL career, the 31-year-old receiver has played for the Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, New Orleans Saints, San Francisco 49ers, and Pittsburgh Steelers. A two-time Super Bowl champion from his tenure in Kansas City, Valdes-Scantling brings extensive veteran experience to Los Angeles. To clear space on the active roster, the Chargers promoted wide receiver Gary Jennings from the practice squad. Valdes-Scantling's addition provides immediate insurance and depth for the team's receiving corps heading into Week 2.
