US Rep. Tom Tiffany Survives Plane Emergency Landing in Wisconsin Lake

U.S. Representative Tom Tiffany sustained minor injuries after the small plane carrying him home from a political event lost power and executed an emergency water landing in Lake Wausau, Wisconsin. The incident occurred late Saturday night as the four-seat aircraft approached the Wausau Downtown Airport following the La Crosse County Lincoln Day Dinner. After the aircraft touched down on the water, Tiffany and the pilot placed a 911 call. As the plane began to submerge, both occupants exited the aircraft and swam to a shallow area, where they awaited rescue. The Wausau Fire Department and local emergency responders arrived by boat, retrieved them from the water, and transported both individuals to Aspirus Wausau Hospital for medical evaluation. Hospital examinations confirmed minor injuries for both passengers. Tiffany expressed gratitude to the pilot and first responders, later being joined at the hospital by his wife, Chris Tiffany.
