TSMC August Revenue Surges 53% to Record High
PUBLISHED Sep 10, 2026, 4:05 AM ET
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company reported consolidated revenue of NT$514.81 billion, equivalent to approximately $16.35 billion, for August 2026. This figure represents a 53.3 percent increase compared to the same period in the previous year and a 10.1 percent gain over July figures. The performance marks the fourth consecutive month that the world's contract chipmaking leader has set a record-high monthly revenue, driven by sustained global demand for artificial intelligence hardware and high-performance computing processors. Cumulative revenue for the first eight months of 2026 reached NT$3.387 trillion, marking a 39.3 percent year-over-year increase. Executives noted that production capacity for advanced manufacturing nodes, including 3-nanometer and 5-nanometer architectures, remains fully utilized. Major corporate clients including Nvidia and Apple continue to drive order volumes, prompting the company to accelerate fabrication plant construction globally. Market analysts attribute the sales milestone to robust enterprise spending on data center infrastructure and specialized artificial intelligence processors.
