Williamson Health to proceed with $700M sale to Ascension

The Williamson County Commission recently voted to advance a proposed seven hundred million dollar transaction for Ascension Saint Thomas to acquire Williamson Health. Including planned capital investments, the total economic value of the agreement approaches one billion dollars. Hospital leadership stated that maintaining operational independence presented severe financial hurdles amid rising industry pressures. The acquisition encompasses Williamson Medical Center alongside over thirty regional healthcare facilities and more than twenty four hundred employees. Ascension has pledged extensive funding toward technology upgrades and facility improvements over the next decade, while guaranteeing staff retention for at least one year. This vote initiates an exclusive negotiation and due diligence period. If finalized by state regulators and local authorities, the formal acquisition is projected to conclude around two thousand twenty seven or two thousand twenty eight, pending definitive legal agreements and continued public review.
