San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Raheem Morris confirmed that star edge rusher Nick Bosa will play in Thursday night’s season-opening game against the Los Angeles Rams at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne, Australia. Bosa has been working his way back from a torn ACL suffered during a game against the Arizona Cardinals on September 21, 2025, which required surgery on September 26, 2025. During his rehabilitation process over the summer, the 28-year-old experienced knee tendinitis and soreness in his surgically repaired right knee, limiting his participation in training camp. However, he traveled with the team to Australia and returned to practice activity ahead of the fixture. Morris told reporters that Bosa is ready to return to the field for the historic international matchup. The five-time Pro Bowler won the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award in 2022 and aims to bolster a 49ers defense seeking a strong start.
