Kalshi is betting that an app in Spanish connects with users
PUBLISHED Sep 6, 2026, 7:25 AM ET
Federally regulated financial exchange Kalshi has launched Spanish-language support for its platform, driven by a surge in traffic from Spanish-speaking users during major global events and elections. According to company culture lead Clarissa Bronfman, Spanish-language usage on the app has multiplied fivefold since the beginning of 2026, with Spanish speakers now comprising 12 percent of the user base. The expansion allows participants to trade prediction contracts on topics ranging from local and regional political elections in states like California and Florida to entertainment milestones such as future film castings. Company officials noted that localized language options ensure participants can fully understand complex predictive information in their native tongue. Kalshi operates as a federally regulated financial exchange enabling users to trade event contracts on real-world outcomes. The platform continues to monitor user engagement patterns to determine future localization strategies across diverse consumer demographics.
