Panthers Place OL Brady Christensen on Injured Reserve

The Carolina Panthers officially placed offensive lineman Brady Christensen on injured reserve due to a hamstring issue on Monday afternoon. The transaction accompanied the signing of veteran linebacker Bobby Okereke to a single year contract. Christensen had been working to recover from a torn Achilles tendon sustained during a previous campaign. Although he participated throughout the preseason, the lingering hamstring problem necessitated his placement on the reserve list, requiring him to miss at least the opening four games of the regular season. To bolster their defensive front, Carolina added Okereke, an experienced former team captain who spent his previous three seasons with the New York Giants and his first four with the Indianapolis Colts.
