Public reaction across social media platforms has involved calls for boycotts against the actor and the hosting ceremonies due to ongoing public scrutiny over past dating allegations involving the late actress Kim Sae-ron. Following the initial controversy, which featured unverified claims and manipulated audio and text files generated by artificial intelligence, multiple corporate brands terminated endorsement contracts, and his upcoming Disney+ streaming series, Knock-Off, was placed on indefinite hold. Kim Soo-hyun’s legal representatives previously stated that any relationship occurred between 2019 and 2020 after Kim Sae-ron reached adulthood.
