Shein priced its Hong Kong offering at HK$48.56 per share on Monday, raising HK$13.6 billion, or about $1.74 billion, before trading begins Tuesday. The offering values the China-founded fast-fashion company at $26.5 billion, far below its peak private valuation of about $100 billion in 2022. Reuters reported the Hong Kong public tranche was oversubscribed 5.63 times and the international portion 2.59 times, indicating demand but not a first-day market signal. The listing comes amid a Chinese IPO surge tied to investor enthusiasm for artificial intelligence, robotics and advanced manufacturing. CXMT raised more than $8.6 billion in Shanghai in July, while Unitree’s shares initially surged before later falling sharply. HKEX confirms Shein will trade under code 625 on September 1. The trend matters to U.S. investors because Chinese companies increasingly favor Hong Kong or mainland listings amid tighter overseas regulatory scrutiny worldwide.
