Republic National Distributing Co., a century-old alcohol distributor based in metro Atlanta, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in July, announcing plans to lay off more than 500 Georgia workers. Headquartered in Cobb County, the historic wine and spirits distributor employed approximately 1,460 workers at the time of its filing.
