Retired Actress Sheung Shan Chi Na Celebrates 62nd Birthday with Rare Tony Leung-Jacky Cheung Reunion

Hong Kong actress and former entertainer Anna Ueyama marked her 62nd birthday on Aug. 25 with a gathering attended by figures from the city’s entertainment industry. Photos shared by actress Carina Lau showed Ueyama with Lau, Tony Leung Chiu-wai, Jacky Cheung, Eric Tsang, Wu Wan-fang and others. The appearance of Leung and Cheung together drew particular attention because they previously worked together in several Hong Kong films, including the 1992 comedy The Days of Being Dumb. Ueyama, born Aug. 25, 1964, is also known as Sheung Shan Shina and previously used the name Anna Ueyama. Reports say she left entertainment and moved into insurance. Her film credits include several productions from the 1980s and 1990s, while she returned to the screen in the 2025 film Gold Boy. The birthday gathering was subsequently covered by Hong Kong, Taiwan and Chinese-language entertainment outlets, prompting renewed interest in Hong Kong cinema’s veteran generation.
