American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift has donated fifty thousand dollars to a GoFundMe campaign supporting Ashley Taunton, a forty-two-year-old certified nursing assistant from Connecticut. Taunton suffered severe injuries in July after stopping her vehicle on Interstate Ninety-Five in Rhode Island to assist motorists involved in a highway crash. While speaking with teenagers whose car had hydroplaned, another vehicle lost control on the slick road. Taunton successfully pushed a teenager out of harm's way before being struck by the oncoming automobile. The violent impact resulted in multiple major surgeries, internal bleeding, and extensive fractures. Taunton's family established an online fundraiser to offset soaring medical bills and prolonged recovery costs. Swift's substantial contribution became the largest individual donation to the active campaign, accompanied by a warm public message wishing the family a full recovery and sending deep love during this incredibly difficult and challenging period of healing and physical rehabilitation ongoing this week.
