Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson interacted with young fans at Huntington Bank Field prior to Thursday game against the New England Patriots. Dressed in street clothes, Watson stopped along the stadium railing to pose for photographs and sign autographs. The pregame fan engagement followed widespread media attention stemming from Watson sharp remarks after a heavy preseason loss to the Buffalo Bills on August 22. During that contest, Watson faced audible jeers from home supporters upon entering the field, later describing the hostile reception as personal and disrespectful while referencing fans who cheered his October 2024 Achilles tendon injury. Head coach Todd Monken subsequently named Watson the starting quarterback for the upcoming regular season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars on September 13. Neither Watson nor rookie contender Shedeur Sanders participated in the final preseason matchup against New England. Watson enters his fifth season in Cleveland seeking to mend fan relations today.
