PGA Tour Champions golfer Matt Gogel has been suspended for six months after violating the organization's integrity program by placing unauthorized wagers on PGA Tour events. The suspension, announced by the PGA Tour, begins on Sunday and runs through February 22, 2027. Gogel, a 55-year-old former broadcast analyst and single-victory tour winner, released a statement asserting that he placed small recreational wagers in 2024 without realizing he was violating league rules. He maintained that he never bet on regular tour events, senior circuit tournaments, or any competitions in which he personally participated. The PGA Tour confirmed that Gogel cooperated with the review and never wagered on matches featuring himself. Gogel currently ranks 20th in the Charles Schwab Cup points race. Similar disciplinary actions were previously taken against Korn Ferry Tour players Vince India and Jake Staiano in 2023 for placing unauthorized sports wagers.
