The PGA TOUR’s Truist Championship at Quail Hollow Club will join the new Championship Series when the redesigned circuit begins in 2028, adding another established event to the tour’s top tier. The PGA TOUR and tournament announced the decision Wednesday, Aug. 26, making Truist the eighth confirmed regular-season Championship Series event. The series will feature 15 regular-season events, separate from the four majors and THE PLAYERS Championship, with the broader 2028 structure spanning about 24 event weeks. Truist has been a PGA TOUR stop since 2003 and became a Signature Event in 2024. Quail Hollow will host the tournament again May 10-16, 2027, under the existing schedule. PGA TOUR CEO Brian Rolapp said three additional regular-season events have been identified, while discussions continue with prospective partners for remaining positions. The full 2028 Championship Series schedule is expected Feb. 22, 2027, during a televised event from PGA TOUR headquarters in Florida.
