Cal Raleigh hit three home runs Monday as the Seattle Mariners defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 9-2 at T-Mobile Park, ending Philadelphia’s season-best nine-game winning streak. Raleigh, a catcher, went 3-for-3 with a walk and four RBIs, raising his average from .159 to .167. He hit a two-run homer in the first inning, a homer leading off the fifth, and a solo shot in the seventh. The second homer came against Zack Wheeler, with Cole Young following with a home run that ended Wheeler’s night. Julio Rodríguez hit a three-run homer in the first inning. Wheeler allowed eight runs, nine hits and five walks in four-plus innings, falling to 10-5. Logan Gilbert earned the victory after allowing two runs over five innings. MLB confirmed Raleigh became the first Mariners player to hit three homers at T-Mobile Park and the second Seattle catcher to accomplish the feat, after Dan Wilson in 1996.
