James Blunt Denies Link to Hayden Panettiere Yacht Story

British singer-songwriter James Blunt is publicly distancing himself from online speculation connecting him to an unverified yacht encounter described in Hayden Panettiere’s memoir. The renewed public attention follows the death of Panettiere on August 16 at the age of thirty-six in South Carolina. In her book, Panettiere recounted an incident where a trusted friend placed her in a cabin bed next to an undressed, famous British musician without identifying him by name. Internet users subsequently linked the account to Blunt and reality television personality Diana Jenkins due to a 2009 photograph and a chapter in Blunt's own memoir. Blunt shared a Substack article by journalist Dean Piper arguing that the timeline does not support the theory, noting Panettiere was nineteen at the time of the photographed event. Jenkins has also denied involvement and threatened legal action. Federal and local investigations regarding Panettiere's death remain active and ongoing without an official cause released.
