Rapper Blueface was detained by Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies on Sunday evening after a reported shooting at his Santa Clarita restaurant, King of Crab, authorities said. Deputies responded about 5:27 p.m. to the 26200 block of Bouquet Canyon Road following a report of a shooting, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Video circulating on social media shows Blueface, whose legal name is Johnathan Michael Porter, kneeling with his hands raised before being handcuffed while officers secured the area. His girlfriend, Nevaeh Akira, and their newborn son, born Aug. 18, were also present and were moved away from the scene. Sgt. Josh Nemeth of the Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s station told City News Service that deputies completed an investigation and determined no crime occurred. “Deputies responded, completed an investigation and determined no crime occurred at the location,” Nemeth said. Blueface was released, and no injuries or arrests were reported. The incident, which occurred while Blueface was livestreaming, is being investigated as an apparent swatting hoax. It follows a similar swatting call at his home on July 21.
