Disney Sued: Child Star Alleges "Facilitated" Sexual Abuse on Set

Former Disney Channel actress Raquel Lee Boileau has filed a negligence lawsuit against The Walt Disney Company in Los Angeles Superior Court. The complaint alleges she was repeatedly assaulted, harassed, and groomed by an adult studio employee at age 14 while filming the 2001 film The Poof Point in Utah. The filing claims Disney facilitated and concealed the misconduct, ignored explicit warning signs on set, and subsequently blamed and penalized the young actress for performance changes stemming from the trauma. Lee Boileau seeks damages for severe emotional distress and economic losses, mirroring broader industry reckonings concerning the historic lack of safeguards for underage talent. Disney has not yet responded publicly to the specific allegations. The lawsuit underscores enduring concerns over minor protection on past television and film sets, with legal proceedings ongoing in California.
