Yung Filly Faces Australian Retrial After Jury Deadlocks on Three Rape Charges

British entertainer Andrés Felipe Valencia Barrientos, known professionally as Yung Filly, will face a criminal retrial in Western Australia. A jury in the District Court of Western Australia in Perth failed to reach a majority verdict on three separate counts of sexual penetration without consent. During the eight-day trial, the panel acquitted the 30-year-old performer of one count of choking and four other rape charges. However, jurors found him guilty of two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm for biting the complainant. Prosecutor Danielle Clarke confirmed that the complaining witness is prepared to testify again. Judge Linda Black deferred sentencing for the assault convictions until the conclusion of the secondary proceedings. Barrientos remains free on active bail while awaiting a scheduled calendar date for the new trial. The charges stem from an encounter following tour performances in September 2024.
