Actress Hayden Panettiere was found in cardiac arrest before her death in Greenville, South Carolina, on Aug. 16, according to the Greenville County Coroner’s Office. The 36-year-old actor was found unresponsive at Judson Mill Lofts after an acquaintance called 911 at about 1:51 p.m. First responders attempted resuscitation, but Panettiere was pronounced dead at 2:32 p.m. The coroner’s office said an autopsy completed Aug. 17 found no trauma that contributed to her death. The official cause and manner remain pending further investigation and additional studies. Greenville police said the preliminary investigation found no signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances. Dispatch audio referenced cardiac arrest and an overdose, while reports said Narcan was found at the residence; neither establishes an official overdose cause. Panettiere was known for “Heroes,” “Nashville” and the “Scream” franchise. Her family confirmed her death and requested privacy. She recently published a memoir about her personal struggles.
