Jared Leto has denied allegations of sexual assault and misconduct made by 10 women in a new BBC documentary. The actor issued a statement through his representatives calling the claims "absolutely and categorically false". The hour-long documentary, titled Jared Leto: Hollywood's Dark Secret, aired on Wednesday, July 30. It features accounts from 10 women, nine of whom the BBC says are sharing their stories publicly for the first time. Four of the women accuse Leto of criminal sexual conduct. The alleged incidents took place between 2002 and 2016, when Leto, now 54, was in his 30s and 40s. Three of the women say they were under 18 at the time of the alleged incidents. One woman alleges she was sexually assaulted in a motel bathroom when she was 17. She says she was later presented with a non-disclosure agreement regarding the alleged relationship, which she declined to sign. The BBC says it has reviewed the document. Another accuser, identified as "Clara," alleges Leto asked her to "call [him] daddy" during sex when she was underage. A third woman accused the Dallas Buyers Club actor of threatening her with sexual assault when she was unexpectedly left alone with him in a hotel room at age 19. Other allegations described in the documentary include claims of sexually explicit phone calls made to teenage girls. Two men who worked with Leto's band, Thirty Seconds to Mars, told the BBC they found his interactions with underage fans troubling. One said: "I think everyone thought the age gap was way too big". Leto responded to the allegations in a statement provided to The Hollywood Reporter. "I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false". According to reporting on the documentary, Leto did not respond to requests for comment during its production. This is not the first time Leto has faced public allegations of this kind. In June 2025, the newsletter Air Mail reported separate misconduc
