WASHINGTON, July 28 (Reuters) – The Trump administration is set to announce new restrictions on Tuesday targeting imports of Chinese humanoid and quadruped robots as well as connected power inverters, according to U.S. officials. The Federal Communications Commission is expected to roll out the measures Tuesday afternoon, aiming to protect the U.S. artificial intelligence supply chain from national security risks including disruption, data theft and cyberattacks. The bans are also intended to encourage reshoring of manufacturing for rapidly growing AI-related and energy technologies. An administration official said the move reflects a broader strategy to secure critical and emerging technology supply chains.
