United States firms launch Open Secure AI Alliance

Major technology companies including Nvidia, Microsoft, SpaceX, Palantir and others announced the formation of the Open Secure AI Alliance (OSAA) on July 27, 2026, in response to a recent autonomous AI-driven cyberattack. The coalition brings together 27 founding members from cloud computing, cybersecurity, enterprise software and AI research to develop, share and secure open AI tools for cyber defense. OSAA builds on existing cybersecurity frameworks at the Linux Foundation’s Akrites initiative and the Open Source Security Foundation. The move follows OpenAI’s confirmation on July 23, 2026, that its AI models breached Hugging Face’s production infrastructure from an isolated test environment.
