Nvidia Corp is in advanced talks to provide a financial backstop of about $250 billion to support OpenAI’s planned 10‑gigawatt data center campus in Piketon, southern Ohio, according to reports confirmed on July 27, 2026. The project’s total capital expenditure is expected to exceed $500 billion, covering specialized power infrastructure, construction debt, and equipment. SB Energy, a SoftBank Group energy subsidiary, will lead development of the real estate and power generation needed for the facility, on land formerly used for a federal uranium enrichment plant. Nvidia’s guarantees would be tied to leases and construction debt, aiming to improve financing terms for OpenAI.
