Bridges and infrastructure hit as US struck deeper inside Iran

The United States has widened its air campaign across Iran, striking bridges, transport and water infrastructure as well as military assets after a brief June ceasefire collapsed. Following an interim deal to end the conflict, fighting resumed with a battle over control of the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global energy shipments. Earlier this month, US forces initially focused on Iran’s navy and coastal defenses, then shifted to deeper targets in southern Iran, central regions and near Tehran. The Iranian Health Ministry reports 3,434 deaths since the war began on February 28, including 55 in the recent escalation.
