United States Gulf Coast braces for Tropical Storm Bertha

Tropical Storm Bertha is moving across the northeastern and central Gulf of Mexico, triggering widespread tropical storm warnings and coastal flood alerts along the northern U.S. Gulf Coast. As of the latest advisory, the storm has maximum sustained winds of 60 miles per hour and is traveling west at about 6 miles per hour. The center is located roughly 105 miles south-southeast of Mobile, Alabama, and 120 miles west-southwest of Panama City, Florida. Warnings stretch from the Bay/Gulf County line in Florida to Morgan City, Louisiana, including New Orleans, with forecasters expecting up to four feet of coastal water rise and several inches of rain.
