Atlanta completes three-team trade for Thunder guard Dort

Atlanta, United States, announced on Monday, July 20, 2026, that the Atlanta Hawks, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Dallas Mavericks had completed a three-team trade that significantly reshapes their rosters ahead of the 2026–2027 NBA season. Under the terms of the deal, the Thunder sent starting guard Luguentz Dort to the Hawks, while Dallas acquired forward Zaccharie Risacher from Atlanta and the Hawks received rookie guard Ryan Nembhard from the Mavericks. Oklahoma City also obtained three future second-round draft picks as compensation for facilitating the transaction, which was officially confirmed by the Hawks. Atlanta, United States, will add 27-year-old Canadian guard Dort as a veteran defensive presence in the backcourt after his prominent role in the Thunder’s 2025 NBA championship run and his selection to the NBA All-Defensive Team that same year. Dort averaged 8.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists during the 2025–2026 regular season, and is known for his perimeter defense. Dallas, United States, gains 21-year-old French forward Risacher, the first overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, who averaged 12.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists as a rookie before his scoring declined to 9.6 points per game in his second season with the Hawks.
