CANTON, Ohio — Former NFL All-Pro running back Le'Veon Bell, 34, was arrested on Sunday, July 19, 2026, in Canton, Ohio, on a warrant from Michigan related to unpaid child support. Officers from the Jackson Township Police Department took Bell into custody shortly after he completed an autograph-signing and fan meet-and-greet event at a local shopping mall. According to Stark County Sheriff’s Office records, he was booked into the Stark County Jail on a courtesy hold for another agency, pending extradition to Michigan or another resolution of the case. Shaffer noted that Bell cashed in an NFL pension six months ago to pay $50,000 toward the support obligation, and argued that the current guidelines remain inaccurately tied to Bell’s former earnings from his NFL career.
