United States ransomware attack halts Fairlife dairy production

United States – The Coca-Cola Company has temporarily halted all U.S. production at its dairy subsidiary Fairlife LLC after a ransomware attack compromised critical IT and production-related systems, forcing the shutdown of manufacturing operations nationwide. The company disclosed the incident in a Form 8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, stating that it identified unauthorized third-party access to a portion of its systems on July 16, 2026, and determined that the intrusion was directly linked to a ransomware event. To contain the breach and prevent further lateral movement across its network, Fairlife suspended operations at multiple manufacturing plants across the country. United States – The production suspension affects major facilities in Coopersville, Michigan; Goodyear, Arizona; Dexter, New Mexico; and a newly constructed 745,000-square-foot plant in Webster, New York, which was scheduled to begin full operations this year following a $650 million expansion investment. Fairlife, a Chicago-based dairy brand that Coca-Cola fully acquired in 2020, is a significant player in the U.S. agricultural and consumer goods sectors, generating more than $4 billion in annual retail sales and known for its ultra-filtered, lactose-free milk products, high-protein shakes, and nutritional beverages. According to the filing signed by Executive Vice President and Global General Counsel Monica Howard Douglas, Fairlife activated its incident response and business continuity measures immediately after detecting the unauthorized access.
