United States drugmaker adopts NVIDIA Vera Rubin supercomputer

On July 20, 2026, Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS), a global biopharmaceutical company based in the United States, announced an expanded partnership with NVIDIA to significantly scale its artificial intelligence capabilities for drug discovery. BMS will deploy an NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD powered by next-generation DGX Vera Rubin NVL72 systems, described as the most powerful and energy-efficient single-owned NVIDIA compute infrastructure in the life sciences sector. The Vera Rubin architecture, which succeeds NVIDIA’s Blackwell and Hopper platforms, is designed to deliver up to a tenfold increase in performance per megawatt, enabling BMS to run large, complex AI workloads while constraining energy use and operational costs.
