In a televised interview on July 15, President Donald Trump said U.S. airstrikes on Iran will continue indefinitely amid an ongoing five-day conflict centered on control of the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil transit route. Speaking to Fox News, Trump warned that if Iran does not return to negotiations, the United States will broaden its campaign to target critical civilian infrastructure, including power plants and bridges, in what he described as a more destructive phase next week. Iran’s health ministry reports more than 260 people injured in southern Iran, while the United Nations has voiced alarm over the escalating hostilities.
