Ann Arbor, Mich. L.J. Cason entered the NCAA transfer portal this week after Michigan head coach Dusty May left for the Dallas Mavericks and assistant Mike Boynton Jr. was promoted to head coach. The sophomore guard, who averaged 8.4 points off the bench in 2025–26, sustained a season-ending knee injury in February. His portal filing makes him the only Michigan player to enter so far; other roster members have announced decisions to remain.
