New York court dismisses Gilimex fraud-tainted Amazon suit

A U.S. federal judge in the Southern District of New York has dismissed with prejudice a $280 million lawsuit brought by Vietnamese textile manufacturer Gilimex against Amazon.com Services LLC. In a 25-page ruling, Judge Lorna G. Schofield found that Gilimex intentionally submitted forged documents and committed fraud on the court, permanently barring the claims from being refiled. The dispute began in late 2022, when Gilimex alleged Amazon improperly slashed orders for fabric storage pods used in automated warehouses after the COVID-19 pandemic eased. The court also authorized Amazon to seek full reimbursement of attorneys’ fees and investigatory costs by August 10, 2026.
