UNITED STATES – The global crypto derivatives market recorded about $77 million in liquidations over the past 24 hours, with short positions bearing a larger share of the impact than longs, according to Coinglass data published on July 12. Long liquidations totaled $30.2 million, while short liquidations reached $46.8 million. Bitcoin liquidations were roughly balanced, with $5.59 million in long positions and $5.55 million in short positions closed out. Ethereum saw a sharper skew toward bearish positions, with $4.41 million in long liquidations compared with $21 million in short liquidations. In total, 45,677 traders were liquidated globally during the period, and the largest single order, valued at $2.49 million, occurred on the Hyperliquid exchange in the ETH-USD market. UNITED STATES – Bitcoin traded at about $64,237.72 as of July 12, with technical support around $63,000 and resistance between $69,000 and $70,000, as the market also faced a potential $250 million gamma exposure liquidation that could increase price swings. Trump Media and Technology Group’s latest 10-K filing showed the company reduced its Bitcoin holdings by 2,000 coins that had been pledged as collateral in a hedging arrangement, with the counterparty retaining the right to re-pledge the assets. The accounting treatment removed the coins from the company’s balance sheet without an outright sale. Nearly $27 billion has exited Bitcoin since the token fell back from its $89,000 peak, signaling a broader reset of positions across the market.
