Issued on 8 July 2026, the watches cover conditions expected from Saturday, 11 July, through late Sunday, 12 July, with widespread temperatures above 38°C (100°F) and some locations nearing 43°C (110°F). The system is expected to expand into western Canada and follows a late June–early July eastern US heatwave linked to at least 44 deaths.
