United States – Oracle has cut 21,000 jobs during its 2026 fiscal year, reducing its global workforce from 162,000 to 141,000 employees, according to its latest annual filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The database management and cloud computing company said the cuts amount to a 13% reduction in its total headcount and directly tied the layoffs to the adoption and deployment of artificial intelligence technologies across its operations. In the risk factors section of the filing, Oracle stated that the use of AI has already resulted, and may continue to result, in reductions to its workforce, an unusually explicit link between automation and job losses in a major technology company.
