Kirk Schwabe, a former Chicago police officer, high school teacher, and early personal security guard for Taylor Swift, died on Friday, July 3, 2026, after a prolonged battle with cancer, according to The Telegraph. His death occurred the same day Swift reportedly married NFL player Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Schwabe first met Swift while teaching criminal justice at Hendersonville High School in Tennessee from 2004 to 2006, when she was an emerging country artist. In 2009, at Swift’s family’s request, he left teaching to join her professional security team during her early international tours.
