Tata Electronics, a key Apple manufacturing partner in India, has suffered a major ransomware attack that resulted in more than 630GB of confidential data being published on the dark web. The World Leaks group released over 200,000 files, including photographs of iPhone 18 Pro models undergoing drop tests, detailed motherboard design drawings, battery and camera component data, internal quality inspection standards, and a full Bill of Materials with supplier lists and procurement costs. Attackers reportedly used a previously unknown vulnerability in Tata’s systems, in a breach now considered one of the most significant supply chain data exposures in Apple’s history.
