Monaco blast injures Ukrainian tycoon, suspect flees

An explosion at the entrance of a residential building in Monaco on Monday night seriously injured at least two adults and a child, according to local authorities. The blast occurred around 9 p.m. near the French border, and the victims were transported to hospitals in France. French and Ukrainian media identified one of the injured as Ukrainian construction magnate Vadym Iermolaiev, who was sanctioned by Ukraine in 2023 for alleged ties to Russia. Monaco’s Minister of State said an assassination attempt could be assumed, while the attorney general ruled out a terrorist motive as police search for a suspect who fled into France.
